  • The Escalation Of Horse Racing
Horse racing has is a sport that has been around for various years now and the sport has fascinated many wealthy people to it resulting in massive cash prizes for race winners. The early stages of horse racing can be found in Roman times when chariot racing was a chief past-time and even though this was an awfully risky event to both man and horse, causing severe and sometimes mortal accidents it lasted in society until the fall of the Roman Empire and then gradually faded out of the spotlight.
  • The Growth Of Boxing
Boxing has been about since as early as 3000BC, but official boxing was first recognised in the latter part of the 18th century. The ancient Greeks believed that pugilism or fist fighting was a sport that the Greek Gods took part in; this was then included into the Olympic Games in 688BC. The only problem in these early periods were that competitors didn’t have any padded gloves, they merely used leather bound hand wraps sometimes fitted with metal, which you can picture led to some violent and bloody duels some even leading in battles to the death. Sadly fist fighting began to die away after the fall of The Romans on September 4th, 476AD, when the last Emperor of the Western Roman Empire was deposed.
