The reason so few website owners are financially successful is that they do not have a product with mass appeal to sell. Or, they fail because they made the mistake of putting their faith (and their money) in an online store or other cookie cutter website. For most people, the best way to make "walking away" money online is by promoting mass appeal products or services via affiliate programs. Of course, your success will depend on your choosing the affiliate programs most likely to produce income for you. Here's what you need to do. 1. Be sure to find out as much as you can about your website visitors. Lots of tracking and analytics programs are available...some are free. 2. Once you know who your visitors are, you'll know what products and services are of interest to them. 3. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket. If your visitors are women between the age of 25-45, choose several affiliate programs which offer products or services which will appeal to them. 4. Choose well established companies or agencies to work with. If a company or affiliate agency has been in business for three years or more they are probably stable, but check them out. An internet search will probably tip you off if they have had serious problems. 5. For obvious reasons, large affiliate agencies generally have the ability to offer the greatest number of programs, the highest pay outs, and a steady stream of new opportunities. 6. Get to know your affiliate managers. Their job is to make you successful and they'll gladly share information about what you can do to help yourself. 7. Try numerous variables on your website. Add additional pages of information and advertising, and try a variety of banners. Track the results obtained after each change to see which combinations generate the greatest revenue for you. 8. Carefully consider affiliate programs which pay you for generating "leads". It is frequently easier to get your website visitors to request information about products and services than to actually purchase them online. You'll find an almost endless number of affiliate programs out there. Don't jump at the first few. Take some time to find the programs which are the best fit for your website and it's visitors. If you do it properly, your chances of financial success are high.
